Many leisure farms in Xinpu, Hsinchu, where persimmons are produced, are open to the public to take photos and taste the sweet persimmons.
The “Wei Wei Jia Persimmon Farm” is open to visitors free of charge every year, and visitors can take pictures of persimmons, buy persimmons, and enjoy the scenery ofshelves of driedpersimmons.

Thanks to the “September dry wind” (九降風)through Decemberand sunshine, Xinpu makes excellent driedpersimmons.

At the farm, you can watch the process of making persimmons. After selecting the fruit, peeling it, drying it in the sun, and then drying it for 7 to 9 days, farmers will place the persimmons on bamboo shelves,that are propped up above the ground.
